Interviews are classified based on when they occur in the hiring process, how they are communicated, how many people are participating in the discussion, and how the applicant is questioned. An interview can be classified into several of these types.
Screening interview or first interview: A first or screening interview is sometimes undertaken to pre-qualify candidates and cut down the pool of interviewees. It is frequently undertaken by the People and Culture Team of an organisation rather than the hiring manager. It’s also often done over the phone or via teams/zoom.
Interviews number two, three, and four. The number of interviews conducted by an employer varies, but each interview is designed to restrict the field further. Read on to learn more about second and subsequent interviews and why an employer would call you back for more.
