What is the best font and size for a CV?

The best font and size for the body of your CV (also commonly called a resume) is any easy to read font between 10 and 12 point in size.

We recommend that you choose common fonts like Arial, Helvetica, Cambria, Calibri and Georgia, and set the font size for your body content between 10 and 12 points depending on how much content you are trying to fit into one or two pages.

Your name in your CV header should be larger, so that it stands out.  A font size of 20 to 24 is the maximum you should aim for.

Zome fonts may look too small at font size 10 (like Garamond), or large at size 12 (like Merriweather). Before deciding on a font and font size, always print it out to make sure your CV is easy to read.
